In the present era, humanity is faced by many problems and conflicting issues. I believe that the most crucial ones are related to the deep tension between economy and ecology. The root meaning of these words is hardly distinguishable. They both are derived from the Greek word 'Oiko' which means household. 'Logos' in ecology is translated as 'reason' and 'nomos' in economy as 'law.' 

When we think of economy, we refer to human production, exchange of goods, money, etc. And when we think of ecology, the first thing that comes to our mind is green trees with fresh air around.

Nowadays, everyone has their focus on economy. But, we must realise that economy is in nature which is in ecology. Ecology is not a mere factor, but the foundation of economy. Economy and ecology are closely related. The ecology can survive without economy, but in the absence of ecology, economy is doomed.

     

Money always does not bring happiness, but the green trees around us do. We can live without money, but not without trees, which provide us oxygen.They also help us in many other ways that fetches money and increases economy. 

The question we should ask to ourselves is ''Whether to choose economy or ecology?'' I believe that the solution to this conflict between economy and ecology depends on our mindset.
